Samuel Adewusi
Samuel Adewusi is a practicing attorney residing in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the bar in the State of Maryland and District of Columbia. He graduated from the University of District of Columbia with BA Political Science in 1999. He obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the District of Columbia School of Law in 1995. Mr. Adewusi was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1996, and was barred by the District of Columbia Bar in 1997. He was on the DC Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panel from 1997 till 2001. While on the DC CJA panel, he defended indigent criminal defendants on misdemeanor charges. In 2005, Mr. Adewusi was admitted to the US Supreme Court Bar. Mr. Adewusi has solid experience in mediation and arbitration.
During eleven years of private practice, he was involved in various mediation and arbitration sessions on behalf of clients. Moreover, he is a skilled negotiator in complex contract transactions. His practice areas include family law, international business transactions, immigration, domestic relations, child abuse and neglect law, juvenile defense, and personal injury laws.In late 2006, Mr. Adewusi was invited to deliver 2 papers on Trademarks and Geographic Indications in Developing Countries by the International Intellectual Property Institute (IIPI) in Namibia. He is currently serving as the president of Edgewood Technology Advisory Board (eTAB), he has held this elective post from 1999 till November 2007. Also, he is the president of Grace Rural Integrations Systems, Inc (GRIS) since 2001. Both eTAB and GRIS are NGOs based in Washington, D.C. In addition, he was the Executive Director of RySa Group, LLC, a Maryland corporation till November 2007, and Brasacor Global Resources, Nigeria Limited. Currently, he is the General Counsel for African Artists Collaborative, Inc (AAC); and the president of African Artists Collaborative Association, Nigeria (AACA).
